Biography

John was the son of Jes­se and Zel­ia Pat­ti­son. He mar­ried three times: First wife un­known. Se­cond wife: Ade­laide Man­gam (1869, New York). Third wife: Em­ma Roem­held (1890, New York).

He stu­died with Listz, Von Bu­low, and oth­ers, and was a well known pi­a­nist and com­pos­er, es­pe­cial­ly of ma­zur­kas.

In 1881, he be­came the or­gan­ist at St. Fra­ncis Xa­vier Ca­tho­lic Church in New York.
