Victor was the husband of Alida Jennie Lindeborg.
He was educated at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois (BS 1889, master’s degree later) and Harvard University.
He was a professor of physics and chemistry at Augustana College for 16 years, starting in 1890.
In 1906, he joined the Rock Island Tropical Plantation Company, and managed a Mexican rubber plantation.
After the venture folded due to political instability in Mexico, Peterson went into real estate and insurance.
He became head of the chemistry department of Huron College, South Dakota, in 1920, and retired in 1928.
