He pastored at the Brotherhood Church in Harrow Road, London (1896–1900); Greville Place, Kilburn (1901–04); Bunyan Meeting, Bedford (1905–15); Whitefield’s Tabernacle, Tottenham Court Road, London (1912–16); and Streatham (1917–37).
From 1931–32, he chaired the Congregational Union of England and Wales.
