We sus­pect this au­thor is min­is­ter Gus­tav Al­bin Pihl­blad (1886–1970), who is bur­ied in Lake­wood Ce­me­te­ry, Min­ne­apo­lis, Min­ne­so­ta:

• The No­vem­ber 12, 1930, is­sue of the North Park Press, page 4, pub­lished by North Park Col­lege, men­tions Rev. Gus­tav Pihl­blad as being an alum­nu­s of the coll­ege. G. A. Pihl­blad’s hymn ap­peared in a 1931 hym­nal of the Ev­an­gel­ic­al Co­ve­nant Church, whose se­mi­na­ry is at North Park.
• Pihlblad’s I Would Go to Hea­ven was pub­lished in Min­ne­apo­lis in Na­than­iel Carl­son’s 1932 Songs of Trust and Tri­umph No. 3.
