Biography

Powell’s Night Hymn was pub­lished in Lo­gans­port, In­di­ana, in 1892.

We sus­pect he may be Reu­ben Jay Pow­ell (1847–1921), a band lead­er, mu­sic teach­er, and mu­sic ar­rang­er who is bur­ied in Tip­pe­ca­noe, In­di­ana, about 30 miles from Lo­gans­port.
