
Born: March 4, 1894, Moigrad-Porolissum, Romania. Some sources give his birthplace as Hungary (known in Hungarian as Mojgrád): The town was part of the of kingdom of Hungary in the Middle Ages, but after the Ottoman Empire defeated the Hungarian army at the Battle of Mohács in 1526, the kingdom of Hungary fractured, and Moigrad became part of the Principality of Transylvania around 1570, and later present day Romania.
Died: January 14, 1949.
Buried: International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Illinois.
