Biography

Pusey’s fa­mi­ly name was orig­in­al­ly Bou­ver­ie, but his fa­ther (son of the first Vis­count Folke­stone) changed it af­ter in­her­it­ing the Pu­sey es­tate.

Philip at­tended Eton College and Christ Church at Ox­ford Uni­ver­si­ty.

He be­came a Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment and pa­tron of the arts. He helped found the Lon­don Lib­ra­ry, and had an ar­dent in­ter­est in hym­no­lo­gy.
