Biography

Alfred was the hus­band of Sar­ah Brown.

He stu­died at Thiel Col­lege, Green­ville, Penn­syl­van­ia, and the Lu­ther­an Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary, Phi­la­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia.

Ramsey was or­dained to the Penn­syl­van­ia Min­is­ter­ium in 1885, and served pas­tor­ates in Scen­ery Hill and Un­ion­town, Penn­syl­van­ia, and in Min­ne­apo­lis and Sta­cy, Min­ne­s­ota.

For 13 years, he was Pro­fess­or of His­tor­ic­al Theo­lo­gy at the Lu­ther­an Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois.
