Biography

Isaac was the son of Ed­ward Eras­tus Ran­kin and Emi­ly Wat­kin­son, and hus­band of Mar­tha Clark.

He gra­du­at­ed from Prince­ton Uni­ver­si­ty (AB 1873, AM 1876) and Un­ion Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry (BD 1877).

The 1880 cen­sus list­ed him as a cler­gy­man in Hart­ford, Con­nec­ti­cut.

He was li­ter­ary ed­it­or of The Con­gre­ga­tion­al­ist in Bos­ton, Mas­sa­chu­setts.
