Reinagle was the or­gan­ist at St. Pe­ter’s Church, Ox­ford, Eng­land (1822–53) (his un­cle, al­so named Al­ex­an­der, was a con­duct­or, com­pos­er, and teach­er in Bal­ti­more, Ma­ry­land, and Phi­la­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia).
