Biography

Daughter of Sal­va­tion Ar­my (SA) Bri­ga­dier Ge­ne­ral Will­iam J. Ri­chards, Mi­ri­am grew up in Ja­va and Ko­rea.

She served at va­ri­ous SA lo­ca­tions, in­clud­ing Chester-Le-Street, the Young Peo­ple’s De­part­ment at the In­ter­na­tion­al Head­quar­ters, the North­ern Ter­ri­tor­i­al Head­quar­ters in Leeds, the In­ter­na­tion­al Train­ing Col­lege (1938–44), on Wo­men’s So­cial Work (1944–55), and as ed­it­or of the Home League Ex­change (1955–71).

She reached the SA rank of Lieu­ten­ant Co­lo­nel, and re­tired in 1971.
