Died: 1599, Lang­feld (near Son­nen­burg), Bran­den­burg.

Biography

Ringwaldt was or­dained in 1557, and was pas­tor of two par­ish­es be­fore sett­ling in 1566 as pas­tor of Lang­feld.

He was one of the most pro­li­fic hym­nists of the 16th Cen­tu­ry, writ­ing at least 165 hymns.

A se­lec­tion of 59 of his Geist­liche Lied­er was pub­lished at Hal­le, Ger­ma­ny, in 1858.
