Rogers began as a chorister at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, and went on to become an organist and composer.
He started playing the organ at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, in 1638, but returned to Windsor three years later.
He also held positions as organist at Eton (1660–64), lay clerk at St. George’s (1662), and organist and informator choristarum at Magdalen College, Oxford (1664–86).
