Biography

Wilfrid was the son of Re­gi­nald John Sheb­beare and Ma­ri­an Eliz­abeth Wrench.

He served as or­gan­ist and choir­mas­ter at the Cow­ley Fa­thers, Ox­ford, Eng­land.

He con­vert­ed to Ro­man Ca­tho­li­cism in 1905, af­ter which he joined the Be­ne­dic­tine Or­der as a monk and be­came an or­gan­ist at Down­side Ab­bey.

Works

Some of his mu­sic ap­peared in The Cow­ley Car­ol Book. He wrote the ar­ti­cle Can­tor for the 1908 edi­tion of The Ca­tho­lic En­cy­clo­pe­dia.
