Biography

Sheppard was edu­cat­ed at Queen’s Col­lege, Ox­ford (BA in ho­nors 1888, MA 1892).

Ordained in 1888, he was cur­ate of Christ Church, Tem­per­ley (1888–90); mis­sion­er of the Church Mis­sion­ary So­ci­ety (CMS) (1895–96); CMS Cen­ten­a­ry Sec­re­ta­ry (1896–1900); and vi­car of St. Pe­ter’s, Ips­wich (1900).
