Biography

Phebe was the wife of Me­nan­der Spur­lock, a min­is­ter in the Cen­tral Il­li­nois Con­fer­ence, in Knox Coun­ty, Il­li­nois (mar­ried 1856).

They lived in Mid­dle­port Ward, Il­li­nois, in 1860, and in Ge­ne­seo, Il­li­nois, in 1880

For six years, Phe­be was cor­re­spond­ing sec­re­ta­ry of the Wo­man’s Home and For­eign Mis­sion­ary So­cie­ties.

She al­so gave lec­tures for eight years, and was ac­tive in the tem­per­ance move­ment.
