Biography

William was the son of min­is­ter R. J. Sta­tham.

He was edu­cat­ed at Marl­bo­rough and Uni­ver­si­ty Col­lege, Dur­ham (BA 1856, DMus 1876).

Ordained in 1858, he served as cur­ate of Tun­stall and vi­car of Ell­es­mere Port (1866–98).

From 1869–79, he was the Or­gan­iz­ing Choir­mas­ter of Frod­sham Dean­er­ies Cho­ral As­so­cia­tion.

Works

Statham com­posed an or­a­to­rio, church ser­vic­es, and songs.
