Biography

Stoddart’s fa­mi­ly moved to Kirk­wall in the Ork­ney Is­lands when she was a child.

She joined the Sal­va­tion Ar­my (SA) in 1886, and held sev­er­al corps po­si­tions in Scot­land, then in Wo­men’s So­cial Work.

After mar­ry­ing SA Cap­tain Will­iam Stod­dart, they served in Bris­tol; De­ven­port, De­von; and Mouse­hole, Corn­wall; then in Am­er­ica.
