Biography

Charles was the son of Al­bert Stone.

He stu­died voice in New York and Bos­ton, Mas­sa­chu­setts, and in 1879 was hired to teach voice at Bat­tle Creek Col­lege (now An­drews Uni­ver­si­ty). A year lat­er, he was giv­en the ti­tle of Pro­fess­or of Mu­sic there.

Stone also served as sec­re­ta­ry of the 7th Day Ad­vent­ist Ge­ne­ral Con­fer­ence, and as­sist­ant ed­it­or of the Ad­vent­ist Re­view and He­rald.
