Biography

Strong’s birth name was Spring­mey­er. He adopt­ed the short­er and more ea­si­ly re­mem­bered name Strong (his wife’s maid­en name), and was us­ing the name pro­fess­ion­al­ly by 1920.

Strong was ac­tive in the Am­eri­can Guild of Or­gan­ists, and the Na­tion­al As­so­cia­tion of Or­gan­ists. He played the or­gan at St. Pe­ter’s Lu­ther­an Church, St. Mark’s Lu­ther­an Church, and the Grace Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal Church, all in New York Ci­ty.

Sometime in the 1920’s he seems to have moved to the San Fran­cis­co, Ca­li­for­nia, area.
