Biography

Fred was the son of James Sam­uel Swill­ing and Fran­ces Clay­ton Ay­ers, and hus­band of Willie Mae Jones.

A Me­tho­dist, he taught sing­ing schools part time.

He served as a ser­geant in World War I.
