Biography

Tozer’s mu­sic­al ca­reer be­gan as a cho­ris­ter at Exe­ter Ca­thed­ral.

He stu­died un­der Alfred An­gel and D. J. Wood, and at Queen’s Col­lege, Ox­ford (MusB 1891, MusD 1895).

He served as or­gan­ist at St. Da­vid’s, Exe­ter (1875–82); St. Mi­chael’s & All An­gels, Hea­vi­tree (1882–1930); and Exe­ter Ca­thed­ral.

When not in­volved with mu­sic, he worked at the De­von and Corn­wall Bank in Exe­ter.
