Born: March 1, 1710, Black­wa­ter Park (near St. Al­bans), Hert­ford­shire, Eng­land.

Died: Sep­tem­ber 5, 1798.

Biography

Turner re­ceived a class­ic­al edu­ca­tion, and for ma­ny years ran a board­ing school at Hem­el Hemp­stead, but in 1741 he be­came pas­tor of the Bap­tist church in Read­ing.

He moved to Abing­don in 1748, and pas­tored the Bap­tist church there un­til his death. He prob­ab­ly re­ceived an hon­or­ary de­gree of MA from the Bap­tist Col­lege in Pro­vi­dence, Rhode Island.
