Biography

Vansant’s mu­sic for Come Home was pub­lished in Phi­la­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia, in 1901.

We sus­pect he may be Will­iam W. Van­sant (1843–1926), who served in a br­igade band with the 4th De­la­ware Vol­un­teer In­fan­try in the Ame­ri­can ci­vil war, was dis­charged in 1865 as a First Class Mu­si­cian, and is buried in Newark, Delaware.
