Harry was the son of Shepard L. Vibbard and Cynthia Rebecca Leonard, and husband of Cary Belle Yelton.
He studied piano and organ at the College of Fine Arts, Syracuse University, graduating in 1898. He later traveled to Paris to study organ under Charles-Marie Widor.
He served as organist at Syracuse University, New York, for 38 years. He also played the organ at several churches in Syracuse.
