Biography

William was the son of Charles Vin­er and Eli­za­beth Bar­ber, and hus­band of Em­ma Dens­ham.

He stu­died un­der Charles Wes­ley, Jr., and be­came or­gan­ist of St. Mic­hael’s Church in Bath around 1810. He al­so taught mu­sic while there.

From 1835–59, he played the organ at St. Mary’s, Pen­zance.

Viner emi­grat­ed to Am­er­ica in 1859.
