Biography

Herman was the hus­band of Re­gu­la Stues­sie.

He gra­du­at­ed from Col­gate-Ro­ches­ter Di­vin­ity School (now Col­gate Ro­ches­ter Cro­zer Di­vin­ity School), then served pas­tor­ates in New Bri­tain, Con­nec­ti­cut, and Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1907, he re­turned to Col­gate as a pro­fess­or. He was al­so a com­pos­er, and, in 1920, be­came a li­ter­ary ed­it­or at Lor­enz Mu­sic Pub­lish­ing.
