A com­pos­er and or­gan­ist, Webbe was sec­re­ta­ry of the Catch Club and li­brar­i­an of the Glee Club, and was well known for his work Glo­ri­ous Apol­lo. In 1776, he be­came or­gan­ist at the Por­tu­guese em­bas­sy cha­pel.
