Biography

Thomas was the son of Gil­man White and Eli­za­beth Brown (known as Bet­sey), and bro­ther of Ed­ward Lit­tle White.

He was a mem­ber of the firm T. B. & E. L. White, book­sell­ers and sta­tion­ers in New­bu­ry­port, Mas­sa­chu­setts.

White la­ter moved to New Bed­ford, Mas­sa­chu­setts, where he was ca­shier of the Na­tion­al Bank of Com­merce.
