Wiberg was educated at Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois; North Park College, Chicago; William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri; North Park Theological Seminary; Yale Divinity School, New Haven, Connecticut; Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, Virginia; and the University of Oslo, Norway.
Ordained a Covenant minister in 1953, he served in Oakland, California; and at Haddam Neck Covenant Church, Hampton, Connecticut; Mission Covenant Church, Princeton, Illinois; First Covenant Church, Youngstown, Ohio; North Park Covenant Church, Chicago, Illinois; and Salem Covenant Church, New Brighton, Minnesota.
He was on the Covenant Hymnal Commission (1967–73) and chaired the Commission for the Revision of the Book of Worship (1973–80).
