Biography

Karl was the son of He­lene Wein­berg­er, and hus­band of He­lene Schandl.

He com­posed over 20 op­er­et­tas, and served as pre­si­dent of the Aus­tri­an Com­pos­ers’ Un­ion (1922–25).

Weinbergerplatz in Vi­en­na-Hiet­zing was named af­ter him in 1955.
