Ensign nor­mal­ly in­di­cates a na­val rank, but this was Young’s first name, though he went by E. Ed­win Young. He was said to be liv­ing in Wayne, Ne­bras­ka, as of 1924. He served as Dean of the School of Mu­sic at Har­din-Sim­mons Uni­ver­si­ty, Ab­i­lene, Tex­as (1934–56).
