Biography

Not surprisingly, Zwingli was entangled in the theological and political disputes of the day, and more than once served as a chaplain to Swiss military forces.

Zwingli composed one of his best known pieces after he caught the plague in September 1519 in Zürich. Written as a poem, it has been adapted as a hymn, known as Zwingli’s Pestlied.
