From the depths my pray­er as­cend­eth
Unto God on high;
Hear, O Lord, my sup­pli­ca­tion
And my cry.

None can stand un­scathed and blame­less
In Thy judg­ment just,
But the con­trite in Thy mer­cy
Humbly trust.

Lord, my hope is in Thy pro­mise,
And I wait for Thee
More than they who watch for morn­ing,
Light to see.

With the Lord is tender mer­cy,
And re­deem­ing love;
Israel, look for full sal­va­tion
From above.
