Out of the depths have I cried unto Thee, O Lord.
Psalm 130:1
Words: William Bartholomew, 1854.
Music: Nineveh Ann S. Bartholomew, 1854 (🔊 pdf nwc).
From the deeps, to Thee, O Lord,
We have cried, and Thou hast heard;
Calmed our fears, dried our tears,
Made our staff of hope Thy Word.
While oppressed with pain we lay,
Thou didst deign to hear us pray;
From the grave Thou didst save;
Thou didst chase the pain away.
Trust then, Israel, in the Lord,
Make thy staff of hope His Word,
Prayer in grief, brings relief;
Pray, until thy prayer be heard,
Pray, until thy prayer be heard.
