Lyrics

The Master is come, and calleth!
He speaketh in grace to thee;
Dost thou not hear Him calling,
Arise, and follow Me.

Refrain

Arise, and follow Me quickly,
Thus giveth He loud command;
Arise, and ascend in brightness
Into that glorious land.

He comes for the great rewarding
Of work we have for Him done:
He crowneth His faithful servants
With bright, everlasting crown.

Refrain

The Bridegroom is come, and calleth!
He comes, He will wait no more;
He comes for the marriage supper,
The marriage joy in store.

Refrain

Quit now at last the chamber
Of long and loathsome gloom,
For splendor in My pavilion—
The marriage day is come.

Refrain

The Judge is come, and calleth
Before Him the sons of men;
Long, long has His voice been sounding,
It sounds for the last again.

Refrain

Its echoes across the ages
Have been sounding judgment long;
Like noise of many waters,
As voice of archangel throng.

Refrain

’Tis time for the great enthroning,
The day of wrath and doom;
The day of power and terror,
And sons of men are dumb.
