O world, be­hold Him dy­ing
Who is thy life sup­ply­ing;
Behold! He dies for Thee:
He who in glo­ry reign­eth,
No scorn, no shame dis­dain­eth,
From end­less death my soul to free.

Now from my Sav­ior flow­eth
The blood His love be­stow­eth
On us, that we may live!
What grief His Spir­it rend­eth!
Whilst thus He con­des­cend­eth
His life for us His foes to give!

Of His own will He di­eth,
Who to His Fa­ther cri­eth,
O Fa­ther! mer­cy show:
Come, child­ren of trans­gress­ion;
To Je­sus make con­fess­ion;
Your all to His great love you owe.
