Preserved by Thine almighty power,
O Lord, our Maker, Savior, King,
And brought to see this happy hour,
We come Thy praises here to sing.
Refrain
Happy day, happy day!
Here in Thy courts we’ll gladly stay,
And at Thy footstool humbly pray
That thou wouldst take our sins away.
Happy day, happy day!
When Christ shall wash our sins away!
We praise Thee for Thy constant care,
For life preserved, for mercies giv’n;
Oh, may we still these mercies share,
And taste the joys of sins forgiv’n.
Refrain
We praise Thee for the joyful news
Of pardon through a Savior’s blood;
O Lord, incline our hearts to choose
The way to happiness and God.
Refrain
And when on earth our days are done,
Grant, Lord, that we at length may sing,
With teachers, scholars, round Thy throne,
The song of Moses and the Lamb.
