Within Thy tem­ple, Lord,
We think on mer­cies past;

About Mount Zi­on go,
Her tow­ers and ram­parts tell;
That ye her strength may know,
Mark her de­fens­es well;
Her roy­al pa­lac­es be­hold

To all the com­ing race
Repeat the mes­sage o’er:
This migh­ty God of grace
Is ours for­ev­er­more;
