Biography

Ole was the son of Tol­lef Ar­ne­son and Mar­gre­te Ol­son (Ru­dring­en) San­den.

He was prin­ci­pal of the pub­lic school at Spring Grove, Min­ne­so­ta (1876–79), then taught in Hat­ton, North Da­ko­ta.

Later, he man­aged of the book de­part­ment of Skan­di­nav­en, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois.

He is re­mem­bered as the trans­lat­or of ma­ny Nor­we­gian hymns and po­ems.
