Biography

Austin was edu­cat­ed at St. John’s Col­lege, Cam­bridge.

He be­came a Ro­man Ca­tho­lic, en­tered Lin­coln’s Inn to stu­dy for the bar, sub­se­quent­ly be­came a tu­tor, and fi­nal­ly de­vot­ed him­self to li­te­ra­ture.
