Born: May 1, 1812, Wells, Somerset, England.
Died: May 12, 1891, Latton, Wiltshire, England.
Beadon was educated at Eton and St. John’s College, Cambridge (BA 1835, MA 1839).
Taking Holy Orders in 1836, he became vicar of Haselbury Plucknett, Somerset (1837); vicar of Latton, Wiltshire (1838); Honorary Canon of Bristol; and Rural Dean.
One anecdote tells that Beadon was invited by the vicar of nearby Down Ampney, Arthur Vaughan Williams, to baptize his infant son Ralph.
During the ceremony, Beadon dropped the child, but Mrs. Vaughan Williams grabbed the skirts of his christening robe, saving the future composer. There is no record of Beadon baptizing any more Down Ampney babies.
