Biography

Sallie was the daugh­ter of Ab­ner New­ton Keep and Ma­ra­nda Ami­don, and wife of Frank Eug­ene Best.

In 1917, she pub­lished the ar­ti­cle Pa­tri­ot­ic Mu­sic in the Grades in the Train­ing School Quar­ter­ly (Vol­ume 4, num­ber 3, Oct-Nov-Dec 1917). Ap­par­ent­ly, this was a pub­li­ca­tion of the East Ca­ro­li­na Teach­ers Train­ing School in Green­ville, North Ca­ro­li­na.
