Biography

Around 1859, Bland­ner was or­gan­ist at the Cuth­bert Bap­tist Church, Cuth­bert, Geor­gia, and mu­sic di­rect­or of the Beth­el Fe­male Col­lege. When the Am­eri­can civil war be­gan in 1861, he en­list­ed in the ar­my.

In 1898, Bland­ner’s sis­ter do­nat­ed funds to in­stall an or­gan in the church in hon­or of Charles, with a bronze plaque read­ing, In me­mo­ry of Charles F. Bland­ner, of Phi­la­del­phia, by his sister, Hel­ena F. Bland­ner.
