Enoch was the son of Eli Winslow Byrum and Lucinda Fields. He married three times: to Rhoda Keazy (1869), Celia Alma Kilpatrick (1888), and Lucena Caroline Beardslee (1909).
He joined the Gospel Trumpet Publishing Company in 1887. He served as president and general manager, and later an editor, until 1916.
He was a member of the Park Place Church of God in Anderson, Indiana.
