Died: December 31, 1888, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Norval was the son of Captain John Clyne of the Royal Scots Regiment, and husband of Eliza Notman.
He graduated MA from Marischal College, University of Aberdeen.
In 1846, he became a member of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen. He served on the Committee which compiled the draft Hymnal for the Scottish Church, 1857.
