Died: De­cem­ber 31, 1888, Ab­er­deen, Scot­land.

Biography

Norval was the son of Cap­tain John Clyne of the Roy­al Scots Re­gi­ment, and hus­band of Eli­za Notman.

He gra­du­at­ed MA from Mar­is­chal Col­lege, Uni­ver­si­ty of Aber­deen.

In 1846, he be­came a mem­ber of the So­ci­ety of Ad­vo­cates in Ab­er­deen. He served on the Com­mit­tee which com­piled the draft Hym­nal for the Scot­tish Church, 1857.
