Macon was the daugh­ter of Hob­son Mon­roe Bur­le­son and Nan­cy El­dridge Eli­za­beth (Nan­nie) Du­pree, and wife of Ru­fus Cor­ne­li­us (mar­ried 1895, El­lis Coun­ty, Te­xas).

Her tune Bin­göl was pub­lished in Dall­as, Tex­as, and Dal­ton, Geor­gia, in 1898.
