Almeda was the daughter of John Addis Wight and Eunice Jane Kinner, and wife of dentist Willis E. Driscoll, of Manatee, Florida (married July 4, 1902, Windsor, Ontario, Canada).
She was raised in Saginaw, and moved to Wichita, Kansas, with her parents when she was a young adult. Her poetry appeared in the Manatee River Journal.
