Died: May 22, 1915, at his home East­wood, in Han­ov­er Coun­ty, Vir­gin­ia.

Buried: Hol­ly­wood Ce­me­te­ry, Rich­mond, Vir­gin­ia.

Biography

Evans was con­vert­ed in ear­ly life and joined the Me­tho­dist Church.

He was ed­ucat­ed at Ran­dolph-Ma­con Col­lege, which he entered in 1869.

He was li­censed to preach in 1870, and joined the Bal­ti­more Con­fer­ence of the Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal Church, South, in 1872, but was im­me­di­ate­ly trans­ferred to the Vir­gin­ia Con­fer­ence.

After va­ri­ous ap­point­ments in this Con­fer­ence, he trans­ferred in 1892 to the Pro­test­ant Epis­co­pal Church.

As of 1915, he was rec­tor of an Epis­co­pal Church in Birm­ing­ham, Ala­ba­ma.
