Eddie was the son of Robert Larry Faircloth and Sarah Green, and husband of Hattie Belle Tutt.
He was a member of the Baptist church, and of a Masonic lodge in Dexter, Georgia. Remembered as a music teacher, he conducted classes in the singing of sacred songs.
His song Land of Rest was published in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, in 1915, around the time he moved from Eastman, Georgia, to Greenville, South Carolina. His song Traveling On was published in Hudson, North Carolina, in 1930, a year before his death.
